BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY

This term all the students from Year  3 - 6 are learning how to take black and white photos.  They are learning to look for scenes that have great ranges of contrast between light and shadow and where there lots of tones in shading.

They are taking their photos in colour and converting them on Photofiltre which is a simple photo editing programme.  This gives the students the opportunity to critique the photo and reflect on whether it works in black and white or colour.

THEME:  In My Backyard. 

This is a broad subject which can range from the children taking a photo  literally in their backyard to those taken in Ponsonby or further a field to within Auckland city.  The area the children live and play in on a day to day basis. View the wonderful results below.
