WATASHI NO NAMAE WA RUKASU DESU!

Hello! This is my web-page that I frequently go on to to share my latest achievements and schoolwork with everyone.

I hope you like my web-page!

Competitions

I have sent in my entry for the NiE Frontpage Newspaper competition and I was the editor of my group. I hope my entry goes into the finals!

Achievements

I came 2nd in the Central Auckland Inner City speech finals at Point Chev! Here is the start of my speech for you:

One day not so long ago, I was in maths class when my maths teacher said: "You know, anything can be a maths problem if you think about it." From that day on I had a problem! A maths problem.

The next day, I had jam on toast for breakfast and just cut it in half when I started to wonder: What would happen if I ate a half? Then: What would happen if I ate both halves? So in this case, a half plus a half, equals nothing?! But my maths teacher said a half plus a half equals a whole! I guess she was meaning the hole in my stomach, which is now full!

Luckily, I got to school on time just when my main teacher was calling out the roll. Normally, there are 23 people in our class including our teacher, but 2 were in the sick bay with a rather nasty diahorrea, and so: what if, the main teacher catches their bug and has to leave suddenly? And what if, the reliever got struck down by lightning! (Probably a gizillion to 1 chance!) Who relieves the reliever, and how, has this affected the percentage of people in my classroom today?

I was thinking so hard about this problem, that I didn't answer the roll. My name got written on the board by the teacher, who was healthy, but now rather cross!

But I didn't have a paying attention problem, I had a maths problem!

Writing

I have just done a writing sample and got a 4b! (That's a new record for me!). So far I have done very good in my writing and this is an argumentive piece I have done:

  Reading

I love reading and at the moment I am reading The Kane Chronicles: The Red Pyramid. It is about a brother and sister (called Carter and Sadie Kane) who only see each other twice a year and their Dad. Their Dad is an archaeologist and has a secret plan to summon Osiris, egyptian god of the underworld, but the plan goes horribly wrong and blows up the rosetta stone, unleashing the Egyptian god, Set. Set imprisons Carter and Sadie's father and are forced to run for their lives. Now they travel the world and have to find out what connection they have with the ancient magic House Of Life before they can defeat the evil Set.

 Maths

I am in the talent maths class in my school and at the moment we are learning geometry. One activity we did today was about how many times the shape fits into itself, e.g. when you turn a diamond 180 degrees, it looks symmetrical when a diamond is 360 degrees, so a diamond fits into itself 2 times.
