 The hippo

Hippos are mammals and they are animals.

 

Hippos have thick skin. There skin can get too hot and then it cracks. Hippos are very big and strong

 


There habitat is water and land. They live in Africa. They spend most of there time in rivers and swamps.


Hippos are herbivores. They eat water plants mostly


Hippos give birth under water or on land. They don’t lay eggs. The babies can drink the mother’s milk under water.



They can run 30km/h for a short time. They can walk under water or on land.

 

They don’t swim in water they walk
