Writting

In room 6 we have been learning to write reports. Here is my report.

The beetle is a type of insect. It can be found in different shapes, colours and sizes. There are more beetles than any other insect in the world.

The beetle has two pair of wings, antennae, mouth, 6 legs and a thorax.

Beetles can be found in places such as houses, gardens, lakes and trees. Beetles can be found all over the world.

Beetles mostly chew their food different beetles eat different food. Larvae of some beetles are pests. They eat the crops we grow. Weevil or snout beetles eat fruit and seeds. Boll weevils eat seeds of cotton plants.

Beetles eggs can be found in wood, plants, and the ground. Beetles lay their eggs close to lots of food so that when the eggs hatch the babies have lots to eat.

Most beetles know how to crawl or fly. The outside wing is called the elytra. The elytra is used to protect its soft little body. The inside pair of wings are used for flying. One type of beetle can swim across water. Another type of beetle uses gas to push its self across the water.
